Nike entered the golf ball market in 1998 with the Precision line and gained significant visibility by signing Tiger Woods, who used a Nike ball for his historic Tiger Slam between 2000 and 2001. The company developed its first ball for Woods, the Tour Accuracy TW, using solid core construction instead of the traditional wound construction, which he felt allowed for tighter driving dispersion and more aggressive play around the greens. However, 

Nike exited the golf equipment business, including balls and clubs, in 2016, citing declining sales and intense competition. 

Key milestones in Nike's golf ball history
1998: Nike launched its first line of golf balls, the Precision series, which included the Precision Tour Control, Spin Control, Distance Control, and Distance models.

2000: Tiger Woods began using Nike golf equipment in tournaments, starting with the Tour Accuracy TW golf ball. The development of this ball involved a shift to a solid core construction, a departure from the wound balls popular at the time.

2000–2001: The Nike Tour Accuracy TW ball was part of Woods' record-breaking "Tiger Slam," where he won all four major championships consecutively.

2002: Nike launched its first line of golf clubs, following the initial success of its balls and endorsements.

2016: After a period of declining sales and an overall downturn in golf participation, Nike announced it would discontinue its golf equipment business, including the production of golf balls.

Post-2016: Nike shifted its focus back to footwear and apparel, which remains its primary golf offering, though it no longer produces equipment.
