SRIXON
Srixon's history began with its parent company, Sumitomo Rubber Industries (SRI), which started manufacturing golf balls in Japan in 1960, inheriting the legacy of Dunlop Rubber. The "Srixon" brand itself was officially launched in 1996. The company is known for its innovation, including its Spin Skin coating technology and acquiring Cleveland Golf in 2007 to expand its global presence.
Early history and brand launch
1960s: Golfballs.com, Sumitomo Rubber Industries (SRI), a Japanese company, began manufacturing golf balls and clubs after acquiring interests in
Dunlop Rubber.
1996: The Srixon brand was officially launched internationally, initially focusing on high-performance golf balls.
Brand growth and expansion
2000s: SRI introduced its XXIO brand of golf balls and clubs.
2005: The Srixon Z-UR golf ball marked the company's own branded launch in the market.
2007: SRI Sports acquired Cleveland Golf, and operations were consolidated in 2008, strengthening Srixon's position in the global market.
2014: The company was rebranded as Dunlop Sports Co. Ltd., though the Srixon brand remained for premium products.
2017: Srixon, Cleveland Golf, and XXIO were brought under the new Dunlop Sports Americas umbrella.
Innovation and technology
Srixon's heritage is built on innovation, dating back to its first rubber thread wound golf ball.
The company holds over 500 golf ball patents and developed technologies such as the "Spin Skin" coating to increase friction for more spin on approach shots.
We offer different models of used SRIXON golf balls in three different grades – mint-condition golf balls (AAAAA/5A), near-mint condition (AAAA/4A) and value-condition (AAA/3A). Golf ball performance tests show no appreciable difference in game performance between new and mint-quality SRIXON golf balls. Read more.
