The Titleist Pro V1 was launched in October 2000 after years of development combining the performance of wound and solid-core balls. Initially just a temporary lab name, the "Pro V1" stuck after its immediate success on the PGA Tour, where 47 players immediately put it in play at the Invensys Classic.
